International Infertility Film Festival

Today/tomorrow (that damn time difference!) kicks off the International Infertility Film Festival, the brain-child of the amazing Bea from Infertile Fantasies. My entry is below. As you watch it, I know you're going to be asking yourself is Infertile Myrtle an alter-ego of Melissa? First of all, my body is far far faaaaaar more triangular. And if you don't believe me, I will post some photos along with director's commentary over the weekend--I need a space to pass along all the other great advice I've received over the years that couldn't make it into the film due to space. I know you're waiting with bated breath--was Melissa really given the secret key to conception? Watch my film and find out. But I have a feeling you'll be cancelling that next appointment at the clinic and heading straight for Jamaica when you hear some of these golden nuggets of wisdom...

My Aunt Jane Knows More Than My RE

We are already thinking out the next installment of Infertile Myrtle and the Uterus of Doom. We are, of course, also gladly accepting ideas for future installments. Long live Microsoft Paint. I can see her now--gracing the silver screen, accepting her Oscar, and thanking the Academy. And then making a break for the bathroom for her 8 p.m. stim injection.

If you like this entry, please go to the International Infertility Film Festival's main site by clicking on the name and you will be directed to all the other entries in this year's festival. Oh...and if you don't like this entry, it really isn't indicative of the fantastic work housed at the IIFF. So click on over. Happy viewing.

BRILLIANT! What a great job rounding up all of the (annoying) assvice and urban legends about what it takes to get pregnant. You captured it beautifully! Thanks!

I just about died when the baby's legs appeared under the dress. It reminded me of Monty Python's Meaning of Life.

Such amazing talent, Mel (Josh done good, too)!

Holy flipping COW this is AWESOMELY HILARIOUS. It's good enough to show the hubby, and he doesn't give a flip about anything.

I have an aunt Jane, though. And that makes it funnier. Not that she's necessarily like that....

hahahahaha, Mel, I *heart* thos pigtails.

And the bit about how it'll all be worth it. Looooove that.

I want more!

OH MY GOSH, Mel....

I already commented, but...

I showed this to my parents (previous IF'ers, years ago obviously) and Travis.

Travis and I can NOT stop singing it. We woke up today singing it and a little bit ago he says, "how did that part go? I want to see it again."

I think we're addicted.

Love, Love, Love this! Did you know I have an Aunt Jane, too? Maybe they went to medical school together while my RE was out drinking somewhere.

Is that your voice singing? You sound so lovely! Great job on the film. It's going on my faves list.

Also, how do I get the Infertility's common thread on my Typepad side bar?

PS I can vouch that vacations and "just stop trying so hard" don't work . . . I'll let you know if Aunt Jane is right about the adoption paperwork since I'm up to my eyeballs in that now.
