Languid

book lust...

plus cake love...

equals afternoon delight?

Both -- no, all three -- sound very appealing.

This is a languid sort of day, as the day after a holiday usually is. Here the skies are gray, to add to the blah factor.

That sounds like the perfect afternoon.

Me want cake.

Oh MY. That cake looks to die for! How long did those layers take? I'm still scared of the book.

Can I have a piece?

yummmmmmmm...

I have recently cracked open "Just Breathe," one of the books that didn't get chosen for the next Barren Bitches Book Brigade. (I put it on hold just in case, and I thought I put it on "freeze," but apparently not, because I got an email that they were holding it for me. Ever time I passed the library, it was like a siren's call...)

Nothing like a good tale of assisted reproduction, I always say.

If I passed on the book, would I get two pieces of cake?

Mmmmm, cake. Need it now. I won't have a languid day until...who knows? Enjoy yours! You deserve it with all that you do!

Yes, cake and book. Plus a glass of milk.

Ha! You truly are obsessed girl! No judging here...as I spent extra hours in the car today just to continue listening to Harry Potter. In preparation for the upcoming movie...of course.

Oh that definitely sounds like THE perfect way to spend an afternoon....just add a glass of milk and it's the perfect mix!!

I had cake, but no book. I did get some afternoon delight, though. Not sure if that's what you mean...

Ahhhh, I'm in love!

Oh, man...I'd be there in a second if I can read my book of choice.

Hmm. I need to try to gain weight, but I don't need sexy vampires, so I'll take two slices of cake. Plus, eating cake is a good way to increase my milk intake.

I'm keen to try that recipe... one day, when a giant cake sounds appealing to me and when I'm allowed to stand in the kitchen for long periods of time.

OMG... all you need to add is a pillow (for a nice mid-afternoon nap) and that describes my day... or at least how the second part of it went.

Sounds like a dream, book lust is a fine thing to be savoured. Whereas I'm having a pre-holiday anxiety-frenzy, something to be raced through in the hope that I become a nicer person once I get there (I'm packing cake in the hand luggage).

When you've finished with the book you might need to read a respectable book to reclaim yourself but at some point after that I would recommend trying the available chapters of 'Midnight Sun' on SM's website. However, I have no shame.

OK, honestly, I'm more for the cake as well... I've got a soft spot for vampires but can't seem to bring myself to reading these.

Haha, but I'm glad you're enjoying them...

Oh my the cake looks wonderful. I want some.

Looks delicious! :)

Wow. I always get jealous when I see people reading books that I've enjoyed, for the first time. You don't know what is going to happen. You don't know the ending. I always wish I could be revirginzed to a book!! (I do agree with you that the series is written horribly, but they are like Pringles, once you've popped the book open, you can't stop!)

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. is that one of those bajillion layer cakes from that island??

I'll read anything with a slice of that cake on the side!

I want to love CakeLove, but I just don't. I don't want to love Twilight and won't even try. You have fallen off the deep end woman, get a grip!!! (have to admit that cake looks super good)

Paz said...

Oh, cake love not "CakeLove" the bakery. Now I know why that cake looked so damned good, it was made by you.
