Candy Bitch

Does it make me a bitch if I've separated out the Costco-sized bag of Halloween candy into the undesirables and the desirables and kept all the desirables for myself while giving children like the LBWWMTDASADFFIHAOTAC the unwanted Baby Ruths and Almond Joys?

I need the M & Ms more than he does!

Nah. Candy is for grown-ups, too.

Maybe MORE. They'll have sacks full of the stuff. You deserve it! :)

Nope. I look at it this way, they'll never it all and will go to waste so I'm just helping cut down on how much gets thrown away. :-)

Too cute...enjoy the desirables!!=)

Hey, I've already eaten most of the bags of brand name stuff S bought two weeks ago. Kids in our neighborhood will have to make do with whatever Target has left on sale! What can I say...I love me some Willy Wonka candy!

I bought candy, knowing full well that there are never trick-or-treaters on our street (even the neighbor's kids don't usually stop by). Which means, the mini peanut butter cups are JUST FOR ME!!!

I'm sorry, doesn't eveybody do this? I'm sure they do. In fact, if they tell you they don't, I bet they're lying.
Just off to check on my hoard of mini gingerbread ghosts and chocolate eyeballs - they can have the foam brains!

Absolutely not ... I plan to do the same!

I do that, too!!! In fact, this year we only bought candy that we don't like...trying to avoid eating the whole bowl!

No I totally would have done the same thing! :) I haven't bought the halloween candy yet for this specific reason - it would be all gone by now. :)

UMM... I bought candy...

and I already put my "Sorry No More Candy" sign on the front door.

And no one has even come Trick-or-treating. I ate it all gone all by myself (much to the disappointment of hubby).

You are doing far better than I am already

I started way back when I was a kid.

I'd come in from Trick or Treating and sort my haul into two piles. Then I'd put the ones I didn't like into our give-away dish and take some of mom's good eats for my own treat bag. (My mom always bought the "good" candy and some of the neighbors bought the crap candy.)

Hey, all is fair in love and war and candy.

I happen to like Almond Joys. Hint, hint, wink, wink!

It makes you smart. And it makes me laugh. Because I have the same Costco bag of candy and have been comtemplating separating it.

I always put the good candy at the bottom, or in another room and I only get it out if the substandard candy runs out. Although, last year, I completely ran out of candy. I had to put up a sign, turn off the porch light, and hope we didn't get egged. (Our neighborhood is nice, but strangely has no streetlights, so there is a good bit of random, teenage vandilism.)

This year I bought more candy. It is ALL good candy.

Nope. Not at all. I do the same thing, except I keep the good candy for my homeroom kids and give away all the other stuff to the neighborhood kids. The way I see it, I'm stuck with my homeroom for the whole year, these neighborhood kids won't remember me by the end of the night.

Ooh, I love M & Ms. :)

no way! you have to do that.
Husband does that too.and we'll be giving away ALL of the Glosette Raisins if i have anything to say about it! :)

mmmm, baby ruth! That's a kind I actually don't have this year.... though I like it!
I always give away the least-desirables first too. It only makes sense, who wants to be stuck with candy they don't like? Better to give that stuff away and stand a chance at gorging on the good stuff when all the trick-or-treaters are gone!

Heck no. All is fair in love and chocolate!

I do that too. Why would I want to give all the good stuff away. I actually usually end up buying candy at least twice as I eat all the first batch. I had to go back and read your post about the kid. I've had moments like that. Many of them involving spiders.

Thank you for the smile. We do the same thing, so obviously, I think it's normal (does anyone like Almond Joy)? We are actually worse. We sort out the candy by type, and then give it away in a hierarchy, saving the best for last.

Why don't you just give those undesirables (YUM) to me? Screw that kid. ha ha!

Take what you want. If any kid is snotty enough to refuse a 'less desireable,' you can blog about it tomorrow.

If this opportunity arises, please give the child a nice short acronym like LBWWMTDASADFFIHAOTAC. I read the story associated with that one and laughed. You funny!

Hahahahahaha!!!! I give away the candy bars I like the least, first. That way if there are any left over, I get my favs!
