Stone Soup, Internet Style

What you have here, friends, is a pretty fine pot of stone soup. Each item on its own was simply sitting in someone's house. But we set the stone in the pot and people brought out each item to add and it looks like we're really going to do this. We're going to get someone the money they need and we're going to be able to do this again and again. Maybe not every week and unfortunately not for every person, but...by fuck...I think we've got something really good brewing here.

Helen is posting the first round of sales this Thursday. Not sure when the auctions will be set to end, but we'll give an update as soon as we can. We're going to keep this going until we hit the $3000 Cali needs.

After that, we're going to take a week to breathe (remember, Jen, Helen, and I started planning this last night, only 24 hours ago) and then start a listserv so we can hash out how this will work in the future. How often, how people will be chosen, how we can streamline this even more. Like a trusty organ located a few inches above your pubic bone, U.T.E.R.U.S. is here to stay.

SO great! I have goosebumps of happiness - is that even possible? I put a post on my blog about this too and a link in my side bar! So excited - I have to search thru my closets!

Holy fuck, Mel. Are you ovulating? I just opened my bloglines this morning and your posts seem to account for approximately half of all my messages. And I'm subscribed to a lot of feeds, here.

In any case, it all sounds good, but I'm going to have to sit down later on for the "doing" part!

This is badass. Mr. Badger and I are gonna clean out the basement soon, and may have some unused kitchen stuff that we may be able to send your way!

Such a great idea.

Mel, I'm delurking to say I can't get it together to learn how to do the auction thing just yet, but I made an early donation. We do what we can do and this is a great cause. My "to do" list just got longer...

I must see what I have that can donate.
But in the meanwhile, why is the page hosted on .uk? The prices are all in pounds. I must just be missing an easy way to see it from this side of the pond.
