Movies: Princess Bride and Braveheart (and I suppose Trainspotting and Leon/The Professional).

Songs: Peace Frog/Doors, Pink/Aerosmith, Smile/Pearl Jam, Footsteps/Pearl Jam, Queen of the Rodeo/Alice in Chains.

Books: Mists of Avalon, The Historian, Outlander Series (Diana Gabaldon), historical novels by Margaret George.

Can't wait to see the recipes. Here's one for Mediterranean Lentil Soup:

2 c.Carrots, diced
1.5 c. Celery, diced
Garlic, lots of
1 sm. onion, diced
5 cups hot broth (I use vegetable, but could use chicken if you prefer)
16 oz red lentils (I soak them, makes the soup creamier)
1 can diced tomatoes
salt and pepper to taste

Saute onions and garlic, add carrots and celery, then (drained) lentils - add hot broth/boullion, bring to boil, then simmer til vegetables are done. Add tomatoes and salt and pepper. It's delicious!
